Periodontal treatment

Periodontal treatment refers to the treatment of gum disease. Almost everyone will suffer from some form of gum disease whether it consists of slight bleeding whilst brushing or the loosening of teeth through gum erosion. Gum disease is a bacterial infection which affects the gums and bones that support the teeth. Treatment needs to be carried out at an early stage in order to prevent severe damage to the gums and teeth. Early symptoms consist of swelling and bleeding of the gums. Severe gum disease more often than not can be treated, however this is a more timely process. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day helps combat the bacteria that causes gum disease.
